Every child is different, and there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to their education.  That’s why school choice matters.  It’s about giving every child the tools that they need to learn, succeed, and thrive.  This week is National School Choice Week and it’s all about highlighting the freedom to choose how your children are educated.

The last few years have shown us why school choice is so important: we’ve seen parents pushed out of their children’s classroom, while the kids are taught how to comply and conform, rather than to think and innovate.  The system has failed our kids, and they deserve better.

Brianna and I made the decision to homeschool our kids, and it has given an amazing opportunity for them to study history and social studies up close by accompanying me to Washington, D.C..

We are blessed to be able to make that decision, and I will fight to make sure other parents have the same opportunity.  Whether it’s public, parochial, private, or homeschool, there are options out there, and every family should be empowered to make the right choice for themselves.
