This evening, I supported the passage of the STARS Act on the House floor to make our national parks more accessible in preparation for the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. 

Starting in 2026, celebrations across our great nation will commence to honor the anniversary, and we’re already laying the groundwork in Congress. This past year, I even introduced a bill to establish a National Garden of American heroes in Washington to honor those who gave so much to our great nation. 

The National Park Service oversees more than 400 sites across the country—including historic battlefields, monuments, and landmarks. This legislation designates one entrance fee-free day next year—on Constitution Day—for every American to access our treasured and protected lands. This will also include the Everglades right here in Florida, a vital part of our state’s ecosystem. Our parks are integral to our national story and heritage, and I hope we can get this bill over the finish line and signed by President Trump so that you’re able to take advantage of this opportunity.
