It was a big week for water. I made sure our communities are once again prioritized in the Water Resources Development Act—including my new amendment that requires the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers answer for every drop of Lake Okeechobee water they send into the St. Lucie, and new language that puts the goals and purpose of the Everglades Agricultural Area Reservoir in writing: ending the harmful discharges to the St. Lucie, the Caloosahatchee, and the Lake Worth Lagoon. The bill now heads to the House floor for a full vote.
Also, the House passed the Sunshine Protection Act to make daylight saving time permanent, I joined my fellow bomb techs for EOD Week on the Hill, plus a moment to honor the life and service of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, who joined my fight to make the Medal of Sacrifice the law of the land.
Watch all of this and more in the latest edition of Week in Review.
