We are fast approaching the two year anniversary of the attack that killed 13 servicemembers in Afghanistan during President Biden’s catastrophic withdrawal, but the people who enabled it haven’t been fired - in fact, some of them have even been promoted.

The Gold Star families deserve answers as to how the Biden Administration got the withdrawal so wrong and how we had to suffer a repeat of Saigon.  They deserve to know that our nation will learn from the failures that cost their sons and daughters their lives.  We need answers so that we do not repeat the mistakes again.

That is why the House Foreign Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability held a hearing to examine the failure to plan and assess how military and diplomatic leadership can prevent another disaster like this.

As a veteran who served in Afghanistan myself, I take this personally.  I will continue to push the Biden Administration for answers and accountability.  The American people deserve nothing less.
