President Trump is hitting the ground running, and he’s keeping his promise to put Americans first and bring America into its “Golden Age.” We saw it firsthand when he announced a major investment in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

Infrastructure is the backbone of our nation, impacting every aspect of our lives—from delivering essential supplies to our families to enabling daily commutes. When done right, it makes life easier for every American: workers rely on roads to get to their jobs, students depend on connectivity to learn, and the goods we use daily travel to our homes by plane, train, and automobile. Now, we have to look forward to that “Golden Age,” and how we can ensure our infrastructure is able to harness the power of AI.

If we’re not prepared, we risk being left behind. Strengthening AI capabilities requires strengthening America’s infrastructure to support its growth and implementation. A top priority has to be ensuring that  the United States leads the world in building the best AI infrastructure to stay competitive against global rivals like China.

Since my first term, I have been a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and fighting for clean water, safe roads and bridges, and a functioning supply chain has been a top priority. I’m confident that the members of our committee are ready and able to support President Trump’s road map for the future of infrastructure. Together, we’ll push for real results for FL-21 and across the country.

Earlier today, I was officially named to the Subcommittees on Water Resources and the  Environment, Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation, and aviation. Read the announcement here.
