This tax season, Americans are seeing real results and big refunds. It’s no accident either; with less than one month left until the April 15th filing deadline, now is the time to file and get your money back.

Thanks to last year’s landmark One Big Beautiful Bill, this year's tax refund season is projected to be the largest in U.S. history. The average refund in 2025 was around $2,939. This year, experts expect refunds to climb by $1,000 or more.

Don’t forget, if you’ve earned tips this year, worked overtime, or received social security, you’re seeing  new tax breaks under the One Big Beautiful bill.

The IRS opened the 2026 filing season on January 26th. And this year’s online tools make filing easier than ever to check your refund status, set up direct deposit, and get your money back faster:

  • IRS Individual Online Account. Taxpayers can access their individual online account information, including balance due, payments made or scheduled, tax records and more.

  • Where’s My Refund? Refund status information is generally available around 24 hours after e-filing a current-year return, or four weeks after filing a paper return.

  • Taxpayer Assistance Centers. Taxpayers should make IRS.gov their first stop to get help. If taxpayers cannot resolve their issue online, they can get help by making an appointment to visit a Taxpayer Assistance Center.

  • Veterans and military families can also access MilTax and IRS-certified volunteer assistance at no added cost.

You worked hard this past year, and you deserve to keep your hard earned money. Don't wait—file now, and get your refund as soon as you can. For more information, visit IRS.gov.
