The days of our border being overrun by criminal illegal aliens have come to an end.
Under President Trump, we have the most secure border we have seen in 25 years, and we aren’t taking our foot off the gas. Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a new app called “CBP Home” which has a self-deportation reporting feature. It allows aliens illegally in the country to notify DHS that they are leaving the country. Those who are leaving voluntarily may have the opportunity to return through legal channels at a later date, while those who are forcibly removed will be permanently barred from reentering the country. Ultimately, self-deportation is the safest option for illegal aliens, preserves law enforcement resources, and saves U.S. taxpayer dollars.
This is a huge change for the previous administration. Under Biden, DHS’ app allowed more than 1 million illegal immigrants to enter the U.S. This finally comes to a stop. I will continue to work with President Trump to bring integrity back to our immigration system because if we do not have secure borders, we do not have a country.
