While most kids around the country are enjoying their summer out on the beach, or the lake, or going fishing, kids in our community are going out there and fighting for clean water. These are kids from around the Treasure Coast who have had enough of their water being destroyed, their summers being ruined and their health being put at risk.

So, this week I invited the River Kidz to share their personal experiences with lawmakers and other government officials. We met with Congressmen who oversee water infrastructure, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Senator Bill Nelson and Senator Marco Rubio.

I cannot thank the River Kidz enough for their outspoken passion and activism. They looked the Army Corps in the eyes and told them that they will no longer tolerate our community being destroyed - that enough is enough.

Our children shouldn't be forced to do this, but together, I'm confident we can make a real difference.
