Almost 17 years ago, our homeland, our freedoms, and all the values we hold dear to our hearts came under attack by terrorists fueled by a hatred for everything that we stand for as a nation. Sadly, in the past year, attacks in Florida and around the country have continue to show why we need to support stronger domestic anti-terrorism initiatives and bolster our nation’s national security efforts.

Among my top priorities in Congress are keeping our community safe, healthy and strong. Critical to this goal is supporting programs that provide law enforcement with every possibly tool necessary to protect the American people.  This week we passed 11 bills to help thwart potential terrorists and dangerous criminals, as well as strengthen information sharing amongst our intelligence community and combat cyberattacks from our adversaries.
