I have been working with the IRS for several weeks to help streamline the process for individuals to receive their stimulus check. The IRS has issued a special alert for several groups of federal benefit recipients that unfortunately has a very quick turnaround time:

Social Security and Railroad Retirement Benefit Recipients With Dependents
Those receiving social security - including retirement, disability and survivor benefit recipients - with dependent children who did not file a tax return in 2018 or 2019 must use the IRS Non-Filer Tool by 12 p.m on Wednesday, April 22nd to ensure you quickly receive your full Economic Impact Payment. If you have a dependent child and do not use this tool by the deadline, you will still receive your $1,200 stimulus payment automatically; however, any $500 dependent credits you are eligible for will be delayed until you file taxes for 2020. This applies to Railroad Retirement Benefit recipients also.

Social Security and Railroad Retirement Benefit Recipients Without Dependents
If you do not have any dependents to claim, no action is required on your part.

Recipients of Other Federal Benefits With Dependents
Recipients of other federal benefits with dependents, including Veterans Compensation and Pension (C&P) and Social Security Income (SSI) should also claim any eligible dependents using the IRS Non-Filer Tool. The deadline for individuals in this category is May 5th.

Recipients of Other Federal Benefits Without Dependents
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Veterans C&P benefit recipients who do not have dependents and did not file taxes in 2018 or 2019 will receive their economic impact payment automatically. No action is required on your part.

Economic impact payments will be delivered automatically via the method you receive your benefits (direct deposit, Direct Express debit card or by paper check). Finally, the following resources are also available to explain the details of how this money will be distributed:
