Honoring Trooper Joseph Bullock
On February 5, 2020, our community lost one of Florida’s finest, Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Joseph Bullock. Trooper Bullock was fatally shot in the line of duty on February 5, 2020 while assisting a disabled vehicle in Martin County.
To honor him, President Trump signed the bill I introduced to rename the post office in Port Salerno as the “Joseph Bullock Post Office Building” last year. No words or actions can pay the debt we each owe heroes like Joseph, but it was my hope that the designation of the facility in his honor would preserve his legacy in our community for generations to come.
And this morning, our community honored him at the Port Salerno Office Renaming Dedication, to remember who he was - a trooper who took it upon himself to mentor younger troopers on the force. We will continue to remember heroes like Trooper Bullock, and my thoughts are with his family, his friends and fellow officers he served alongside.
