As the father of four, I understand the importance of a strong health care system for all of our kids.  That’s why I voted in favor of the Improving Children’s Health Act, a bipartisan bill that would reauthorize the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities.

1 in 33 children suffer from a birth defect.  This bill will provide essential resources to better understand and treat issues like intellectual disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy and fetal alcohol syndrome.  The National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities hasn’t been reauthorized in over 15 years, so it’s well-past time to send this bill to the President’s desk.

Every kid deserves a healthy start in life.  The Improving Children’s Health Act is a step towards that goal and part of our commitment to the wellbeing of every child.
