In 2017, one of the first things I did as a Member of Congress was get permission to set up a satellite office in the West Palm VA facility.  That allowed my team and me to become a one-stop-shop for veterans who may need assistance with their benefits.  It also made sure we had eyes on the ground if the VA was not operating at an acceptable standard.

But in 2019, we got the boot.  The Secretary of the VA claimed that all space had to be used for clinical care.  I call BS.

Now, I’m working on legislation to allow all Members of Congress to establish an office in local VA facilities if they choose.  Read my piece in Military Times to learn more about the Veterans Access to Congress Act.
