This week, we had what I like to call our Transportation and Infrastructure Superbowl: the Water Resources Development Act.  This legislation is passed every two years, and it is the most important bill when it comes to improving water in Florida. Every two years, I fight tooth and nail to make sure that our community’s priorities are included.

On Wednesday, the bill passed the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee including seven of the initiatives I wrote, including the Northern Estuaries Restoration Plan and $100 million for new infrastructure to protect the St. Lucie, Indian River Lagoon and Lake Worth Lagoon.  These projects will make a massive difference in our fight for clean water.

Stay tuned for updates as this bill moves forward, and check out the latest Week in Review to get all the details.
