• Marine Corps Corporal Hunter Lopez

• Marine Corps Corporal Daegan W. Page

• Marine Corps Corporal Humberto A. Sanchez

• Marine Corps Lance Corporal David L. Espinoza

• Marine Corps Lance Corporal Jared M. Schmitz

• Marine Corps Lance Corporal Rylee J. McCollum

• Marine Corps Lance Corporal Dylan R. Merola

• Marine Corps Lance Corporal Kareem M. Nikoui

• Army Staff Sergeant Ryan C. Knauss

• Navy Hospital Corpsman Third Class Maxton W. Soviak

These are the names of the thirteen heroes that were killed three years ago in the Abbey Gate terrorist attack in Kabul. They died because of the catastrophic withdrawal by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. By having no plan at all, they disposed of our nation’s dignity and, more importantly, of these young men and women who did not miss a beat to serve our nation.

As a result, we have thirteen Gold Star families grieving their loss today on the third anniversary of the Abbey Gate bombing. To say that these men and women represent the best of our nation would be a dramatic understatement. They served our country with honor and we will forever be in their debt. 

Today, our hearts are with the Gold Star families of these fallen heroes. In the meantime, as the chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability, I will continue to demand accountability from the Biden-Harris Administration.
