For more than three months, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s partisanship has really brought Washington to a grinding halt. Rather than working on legislation to improve the lives of the American people, she made the conscious decision to play politics and prioritize the partisan impeachment of President Trump.
Speaker Pelosi’s decision to delay transmitting the articles of impeachment for an entire month - after telling the American people that impeaching the president was an urgent matter of national security - wasted critical time that could have been used to work on a whole host of issues.
Now that these articles are finally making their way over to the Senate, I’m hopeful that the House can move past these political games and get back to work for the American people. There’s simply too much important work that needs to be done for communities all across the country for us to waste even another day on this ridiculous impeachment process.
That’s why my promise to you is this: I will continue working each and every day to break through this partisan gridlock and fight to put people before politics. The American people deserve better, and it’s time to get back to work.

In case you missed it, here are a few other things that happened this week:
- I just filed an amicus brief to the Supreme Court in support of Port St. Lucie veteran Harmony Allen to help her get the justice she deserves.
- The House Foreign Affairs Committee could not answer my simple question of naming one fallen hero who did not justify the killing of Soleimani.
- I helped introduce the Blue Carbon For Our Planet Act to help protect critical ecosystems like the St. Lucie Estuary and Indian River Lagoon from damage.
- Governor Ron DeSantis protected 20,000 acres in the Everglades from oil production.
