UNRWA Is Funneling Our Tax Dollars to Terrorism
Here’s a new goal: disband the US-funded agency that enabled the October 7 attack.
We are beginning to piece together what caused such barbaric atrocities against the only Jewish homeland on earth, we are getting a picture of failed UN policies funded by American taxpayers. Report after report indicates that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for “Palestine Refugees” in the Near East, also known as UNRWA, has disturbing ties with Hamas.
To start, UNRWA employees were actively involved in calling to destroy the only Jewish homeland on earth. We saw footage and evidence of UNRWA teachers and staff praising and celebrating the October 7th attack on social media, referring to the attack as an “unforgettable glorious morning” and a “splendid sight.” We read reports that at least 12 UNRWA employees directly participated in the attack.
In fact, intelligence reports indicate that as many as ten percent of the UNRWA workers have a direct link to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihadists.
This is NOT how our tax dollars should be used. We cannot allow UNRWA to funnel our money to fund terrorism.
That is the reason why I introduced a bill to disband UNRWA and transfer all of its responsibilities to another agency that already conducts refugee work, called the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
In addition, as chair of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability, I led a hearing to take a closer look at how UNRWA was utilized to enable and facilitate the deadliest attack on Jewish people since the Holocaust.
I will continue to make sure the American tax dollars are used to help Americans, and not embolden terrorists whose goals are to harm Americans and destroy our allies.
