This week, we got great news for our waterways!  Legislation that I have been working on throughout my time in Congress, the South Florida Clean Coastal Waters Act, is heading to the President’s desk to be signed into law. 

My bill will require the first-ever federal action plan to combat harmful algal blooms in South Florida.  For decades, mismanagement at the hands of the federal government has harmed our health, economy and environment.  This type of initiative is long overdue, and I am excited to see the positive impact it will have on our community.
