Iran Is Our Enemy
In 2018, President Trump pulled America out of the disastrous Iran nuclear deal. His reasoning was clear: it was “one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into.”
He is right. This deal only empowered our enemy by actively flooding their accounts, which they used to fulfill their chants of “death to America and Israel.” The Iran nuclear deal enriched the Iranian regime and threatened our national security.
However, when President Biden took office, he sought to reverse it. Not only did he try to re-ignite a worse Iran nuclear deal, President Biden negotiated a prisoner swap that included a whopping $6 billion for Iran as “sweetener.” In light of Hamas’ attack on Israel enabled by the Iranian regime, this decision turns out to be an even bigger disaster than we previously thought.
In order to reverse this disastrous decision, the House Foreign Affairs Republicans have put forth the No Funds for Iranian Terrorism Act. Sponsored by Chairman Michael McCaul, this bill would permanently freeze the $6 billion so that Iran could not use the money to continue funding terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah that threaten not only our ally Israel, but also our nation.
President Biden’s foreign policy decisions have led to catastrophic results, and this is one of them. I - along with other House Foreign Affairs Republicans - will make sure to expose this stupidity and push for commonsense policies that put America first.
