This week was a reminder that our government needs to look out for the veterans.  These men and women have put their lives on the line for our nation, and it is our responsibility to make sure no veteran feels like their sacrifices were in vain.

That is why I chaired a hearing this week on the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan.  Despite the chaos and utter catastrophe, no one within the Biden Administration was held accountable - in fact, instead of getting fired, some of them got promoted.  We have to learn from our mistakes.  That’s why it was important to hear from servicemembers who were on the ground at the time of the withdrawal.

And on the House floor, we passed a funding bill that invests in veterans and military families.  I was happy to see that this bill included my bipartisan amendment to allow VA physicians to discuss cannabis as a treatment option in states where it is legal.
