One week ago, the United States woke up to scenes that one would only expect in a horror film coming from Israel. Hamas terrorists savagely attacked Israel in the worst massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust. The stories and videos that continue to come out of Israel are a live stream of the absolute worst of humanity, and it cannot be tolerated.

The United States must stand with the Israeli people and make it clear that we will not falter in our support.

Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., House Republicans continued working through the process of electing a new Speaker of the House. After many internal meetings and discussions, Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) was nominated as the GOP Speaker-designate. I believe he’s the right man for the job, and next week, we’ll see if he’s able to earn enough support on the House Floor to become the next Speaker.
