Leave No Man Behind
On the battlefield, my brothers and sisters in arms have two goals: carry out the mission and leave no man behind. In fact, I am only alive today because when an IED detonated beneath me, my fellow soldiers were committed to leave no man behind.
Joe Biden, on the other hand, showed that he would not only abandon the men and women in uniform, but also deny their existence.
In 2021, Joe Biden made the disastrous decision to withdraw from Afghanistan without securing the safety of our troops and personnel. We know Biden doesn’t remember that he botched the withdrawal from Afghanistan. But even worse, he doesn’t remember that it cost 13 American heroes their lives.
To add insult to injury, Joe Biden has given Afghanistan more than $2.8 billion in foreign aid since the withdrawal. Of course, much of which has gone directly to the same terrorists that have financed attacks on U.S. troops and U.S. interests.
That’s a slap in the face. By providing aid and comfort to the enemy, Biden has undermined the sacrifice of every soldier who served in Afghanistan and every Gold Star family that lost a loved one there.
As the chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability, I will continue to hold Joe Biden accountable for the damage caused to the American people and our military.
