Protecting Life At Every Stage
This week marks the 52nd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, and offers a moment to reflect on the sanctity of life and our commitment to protecting it.
Every life is sacred, and every life deserves protection. This is a principle that House Republicans tirelessly champion.
While we are grateful that our Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, there is still work to be done to protect the most vulnerable members of our society. On the House floor this week we passed a bill known as the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. This bill is simple: if babies survive an abortion, doctors must treat them like they would any other patient and provide lifesaving medical care.
As a combat veteran, I have fought on battlefields to defend the innocent and uphold our Constitution. I understand the gravity of protecting life, the pain of losing it, and the weight of decisions involving it.
Every day, Brianna and I thank God for the four miracles in our lives—Magnum, Maverick, Madalyn, and Major. These blessings are beyond measure, and I cannot imagine life without them.
That’s why this vote was an easy “yes” for me. I will always fight to protect the sanctity of life and honor the anniversary of the reversal of Roe v. Wade.
Our work in Congress is far from over. I remain committed to defend life at every stage, support women who stand for life, and advocate for the unborn. Together, we will continue to uphold and honor this sacred promise every single day.
