WASHINGTON, D.C. — The House of Representatives passed legislation authored by Congressman Brian Mast (FL-21) to sanction the International Criminal Court (ICC) for seeking to punish Israel for defending itself against Hamas.

“This bill is a message to the world that we will not sit by and watch a globalist ‘court’ interfere with Israel’s right to defend itself,” said Congressman Mast. “There are still six Americans held captive by Hamas in Gaza and we must support Israel in its fight to bring them home.”

The Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act would sanction any individual working to investigate, arrest, detain or prosecute American citizens or an official from an allied U.S. country, including Israel. If applied, the ICC officials will have their visas revoked and face deportation from the United States, and no further visas will be issued to them or their family members.

The Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act was passed by a vote of 247-155. The full text of the legislation can be found here.
