Earlier this week, I voted to pass the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act to ensure that states can continue to support the non-profits that serve expecting mothers. As we celebrate the annual March for Life in Washington, this bill is another example of House Republicans’ commitment to defending life and supporting American families every step of the way. 

With this new legislation, we’re protecting the more than 2,700 pregnancy centers across our country that rely on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds, which are allocated to each state for the purpose of helping low-income families achieve economic security. Previously, the Biden Administration proposed a new rule to stop these funds from supporting pregnancy crisis centers; we’re making sure that can never happen. 

I remain steadfast in our fight to protect the sanctity of life and I’m proud of my consistent “A+ rating” from Susan B. Anthony’s List, which scores lawmakers on their policies, beliefs, and votes on legislation on protecting life.
