From bad to better.  That’s the theme of this week, and it goes to show that when we work together we can stop bad policies from becoming law.

For example, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which authorizes all of our military spending.  I voted in favor of this legislation after it was amended and improved, including stripping out terrible provisions that would have established an “Office of Extremism” in the Department of Defense and dishonorably discharged troops who refuse the COVID-19 vaccine.

This week was also a reminder of the bipartisan support that exists to improve water quality in Florida.  To that end, I introduced legislation to make the Land and Water Conservation Fund more flexible so that Florida can take advantage of those dollars for water quality projects.

Each day that I have the privilege to represent you in Congress, I do everything in my power to bring common sense to Washington, D.C. and make sure that the bills we pass are the best they can be.
