WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representatives Brian Mast (FL-21), Jared Moskowitz (FL-23), and a bipartisan coalition are urging the Biden Administration’s Department of Defense to transfer two additional Iron Dome air defense systems to Israel as the American ally continues to fend off rocket attacks from Hamas.

“The Iron Dome is arguably the biggest humanitarian success in modern history,” said Rep. Mast. “Every time it’s deployed, it saves literally thousands of lives that would otherwise have been lost to indiscriminate rocket fire. As Israel faces its greatest threat to date, we owe it to our partner and ally to ensure they have every capability to defend themselves.”

The letter, signed by 32 Members of Congress, urges Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to transfer the two systems as quickly as possible. The systems were purchased by the DoD in accordance with the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), but are currently sitting idle.
