Week In Review
This was a historic week in Washington. We took major steps to put more dollars back in your pocket and increase the size of your paycheck. The status quo has failed. Enough is enough!
We need to put those words into action and give our veterans the proper care that they need and rightfully deserve. And this week, I’m happy to say we made some serious progress: we passed 15 bills to support veterans.
As Vice Chairman of the Water Resources and Environment subcommittee, I'll keep this pressure on until Congress authorizes the resources we need to stop the discharges, send the water south and clean up the water quality.
I'm dedicated to fighting terror, securing our border, stopping Iran's reign of terror, punishing North Korea and destroying Hezbollah. This week we passed legislation to do all that and more.

Surviving families confront many challenges, often made worse by policies that fail to compassionately honor the memory of their sacrifice. That's why this week I helped introduce the Gold Star Family Support and Installation Act.
I'm focused on bringing radical reform to our broken and rigged tax code. This would be the first serious change to simplify our code and lower middle-class taxes since the Reagan administration.

This week we took decisive action that will make our community safer, healthier and stronger. We passed bills this week to clean up our water, help veterans, strengthen our national defense and improve care for seniors.
Far too often it feels like the federal government just isn't paying attention to the issues that really impact our day to day lives. I had a stark example of that in a committee hearing this week when I questioned the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on SB10 and our efforts to build a reservoir south of Lake Okeechobee.
