Week In Review
We accomplished a lot this week on Capitol Hill. From cutting more wasteful government spending to continuing my fight to protect Florida’s Everglades, watch my latest Week in Review to see what happened in Congress.
We had another productive week on Capitol Hill— we made progress on the fight to slash wasteful spending, introduced legislation to protect our waterways, to speaking with the Acting ADM of the U.S. Coast Guard about maritime safety.
It’s been a busy and productive week in Washington, and I’m excited to share updates on the work we’ve been doing to support our law enforcement, rein in wasteful spending, and support American industry.
We had some big wins this week here on Capitol Hill: from ending cruel animal testing and a new bill to support veterans, to voting to restore American pride, we are getting things done.
We had a lot happening this week: we celebrated a huge milestone, the first 100 days of President Trump’s historic second term; we continued putting together one big, beautiful budget bill; and we voted to give Americans freedom to buy the car of their choice.
There’s been a lot of misinformation coming from the left on tariffs, the budget deal, and fake cuts to Social Security and Medicare. So let’s talk about what’s really going on.
Every week in Washington, my mission is the same: stand up for Americans. This week was no exception. From new legislation to end taxes on military bonuses and help veterans cut through red tape, to bills that give the victims of natural disasters the flexibility they need to get back on their feet, it was all about putting Americans first.
We had a busy week in Washington, introducing two new pieces of legislation and fighting back against more of the disasters Joe Biden left behind.
Congress had one major item on the to-do list this week: fund the government. By passing a continuing resolution, or a CR, we’ve extended funding for crucial programs like Medicaid, but we’ve also reallocated funds to make sure that every taxpayer dollar is spent wisely. That means investing in things like a pay increase for junior enlisted troops and investment in air traffic control systems.
This week, we took a huge step towards enacting President Trump’s America First agenda by voting and passing the budget resolution. With this first step complete, we can now start the process of reconciliation to cut taxes, secure our border, and cut out-of-control government spending.
