Right here in our district, we are blessed to have many heroes who embody the Army’s legacy, and I am honored to share two of their stories with you today.
This year, we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army. As an Army veteran, this is an incredible milestone. It’s a moment to honor all the men and women who have worn the uniform— across generations— to defend liberty here at home and abroad.
We accomplished a lot this week on Capitol Hill. From cutting more wasteful government spending to continuing my fight to protect Florida’s Everglades, watch my latest Week in Review to see what happened in Congress.
Squatters should have no right to take over the homes of those who defend our country.
During a House Veterans Affairs Subcommittee hearing, I asked witnesses from the Department of Defense if they see squatters occupying service members' homes as something that would negatively impact troop readiness, and ultimately, national security. Unfortunately, not one witness could answer or would offer support for our troops who face this legal nightmare.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: the fight for clean water is one that we wage 24-7, 365 days per year.
We’ve seen kids get sick. We’ve seen dogs die. And we’ve seen our community pay the price while toxins and hazardous chemicals penetrate our waterways. Our fight for clean water is not over, but I am proud of the three bills I reintroduced earlier today to preserve the health, safety, and future of our communities.
We had another productive week on Capitol Hill— we made progress on the fight to slash wasteful spending, introduced legislation to protect our waterways, to speaking with the Acting ADM of the U.S. Coast Guard about maritime safety.
I’m committed to securing a clean and healthy environment for all. I will stay in this fight because protecting our planet is a responsibility we all share, for ourselves and for future generations.
House Republicans are doing exactly what we promised to do. We’re delivering bills to rebuild a booming economy, secure our borders, and ensure that the government actually works for the American people.
I’ll keep fighting for those battling addiction, for their families and the values that lead to recovery: responsibility, faith, and community. Passing this bill means we’re one step closer to restoring safety and hope.
