Across the country, business owners are struggling to find skilled workers, even though there are plenty of qualified candidates who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work. That’s why, tonight, I voted to pass common-sense legislation that will help connect more Career and Technical Education (CTE) graduates with small business job opportunities.
It’s Hurricane Preparedness Week and it’s never too early to make sure you’re ready. Florida sees more hurricanes each year than any other state, making it essential for our community to prepare for the many hazards these storms can bring to our homes.
When a veteran submits a disability claim, they shouldn’t be forced to wait in limbo or navigate endless red tape, but unfortunately this has been their reality for far too long. As a veteran who relies on VA healthcare, I know the overwhelming hurdles we are faced with to get the care and answers we’ve earned. That’s not acceptable. And it’s why we’re working overtime to fix it.
Thankfully, under President Trump’s leadership, there’s been a government-wide push for oversight and efficiency, and as a result, we’ve finally terminated unnecessary experiments on animals in places like the Department of Defense.
Our safety is earned and preserved by the blood and sacrifice of our law enforcement and the families who they leave behind; I will always back the blue.
We’ll always have the backs of those who have had ours. I introduced three bills to ease access to necessary health services, to honor service members killed in combat, and to address the ongoing mental health crisis.
These heroes gave their lives in the line of duty, and while we can never repay their sacrifice, we can ensure their courage is remembered. That’s why I introduced the Medal of Sacrifice Act – to make sure these families know that their loved ones will never be forgotten.
It’s been a busy and productive week in Washington, and I’m excited to share updates on the work we’ve been doing to support our law enforcement, rein in wasteful spending, and support American industry.
