This week I returned to Washington, D.C. after a great week in the district that included our four-hour town hall meeting. We live in an incredible country where we can all voice our concerns and play a role in the direction that we’re headed.
With Congress out of session this week, I had the opportunity to hear from people all across our community on a wide range of issues. Our town hall meeting on Friday lasted more than 4 hours and I stayed to answer every single question.
We must do more to assist returning veterans in their efforts to find jobs and start careers. Veterans know what it is like to work in high-pressure situations and to be held to a standard of excellence.
This week I had the opportunity to meet with a number of our neighbors to talk about issues they care about - ranging from protecting our environment to making healthcare more affordable and improving our education system.
I've been working hard to position myself in the best possible way to help our community. This week was the biggest moment yet: I was named Vice Chairman of the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee.
